It’s been a long time since we’ve seen anything truly new from
Lone Echo, the hugely promising Oculus Rift exclusive from
Ready At Dawn Studios. We’ve finally got an update on it today
though.

The multiplayer spin-off for the game, Echo Arena, will be free
to all Rift owners, and the full game will release on July 20th
for $39.99. It’s available to
pre-order now
with a 10% discount. Ru Weerasuriya, co
-founder and cco of the studio took the stage of Intel’s press
conference at E3 today. Lone Echo is part of Intel’s initiative
to push VR into Esports.

Lone Echo used to be comprised of both single and multiplayer
modes, and it boasts some serious graphical prowess. Now,
however, the Echo Arena multiplayer is considered a completely
separate game. Both titles use a unique locomotion system in
which players grab the world around them using the Oculus Touch
controllers and use their arms to propel themselves forward. It
creates an immersive single-player experience and the
multiplayer is pretty darn fun too. Intel will also be
sponsoring a tournament with Oculus to help drive VR Esports.
